Sunday Program

Sunday Worship | April 28, 2024

Call to Worship |
Psalm 103:11-12

Confession of Faith | Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead, I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, And the life everlasting.
Amen

How to Read, Interpret, and Apply the Bible Class (05/05, 05/12, 05/26)
The Bible is God’s Word, and yet, it’s difficult for us to read it, let alone understand it. We’re going to take three Sundays after fellowship to talk about how to read, interpret, and apply the Bible. Please join us!

Congregational Meeting 05/19
Our Session has called a whole-church congregational meeting on Sunday, May 19th @11:30am to vote on the final senior pastor candidate, recommended by our search committee. We will have the opportunity to interact with him on the weekend of 05/12. All members are highly encouraged to attend this congregational meeting for this very important decision!

Bazaar 05/19
Our Kwonsa board is holding a bazaar, selling Korean side dishes as a fundraiser on Sunday 05/19, starting from first service (8:30a) till after the congregational meeting (~12:30pm). If you are interested, come early and prepared!

Scripture Reading | Ephesians 5:15-21

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Sermon | “Walking the Walk”

Scripture Reading | Ephesians 5:15-21

Central Truth:

Summary: In his letter to the Galatians, Paul exhorts Christians to walk in the Spirit, showing what this walk looks like (the fruit of the Spirit).  In Ephesians Paul provides instructions on how the Christian can practice walking in this way.

Points:
  1. Mind Your Time
  2. Mind Your Words
  3. Mind Your Attitude

Reflective Questions:

  1. Consider how you spend your time on an average day.  What are some ways you might intentionally focus this time on the things of God?
  2. Why do you think Paul compares drunkenness with being filled with the Spirit?
  3. What are some ways you can use words to edify (build up) your family/friends/church members?
  4. How often do you feel grateful towards God?
  5. How might you direct gratitude  towards God even during hard times?
