How are you doing this week?
Take a moment and feel the weight of our passage this past Sunday. Jesus knows He will be arrested and crucified. It’s His last chance to pray before the betrayal.
What does He pray for? He prays for you and me, and for the church. He prays for our unity, mission, and love.
This prayer is based on Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Because Jesus was torn apart on the cross, we can be united. Because Jesus was on mission to save us, we can be a people on mission for others. Because Jesus loved us by way of the cross, we can love our neighbor even at cost to ourselves.
Jesus’ prayer will come to pass because of His person and work. Enjoy His love and care. Take comfort in His prayer and heart for you. Rest in the truth that His prayer will be fulfilled.
In Christ,
Pastor Tim
