How are you? How is your week going? Have you shifted your perspective?
There used to be a time when I thought the weather in Philly was crazy. Then, I moved to Colorado.
In Colorado, it can be sunny and 90 degrees in one moment. Then, in the next moment, it can be pouring rain and hailing. I experienced such weather only yesterday.
My perspective on crazy weather changed once I moved here to Colorado. I realized that there is no contest. Colorado wins the Crazy Weather award.
Two Sundays ago, Paul called us to die to our pride for the unity of the church. This past Sunday, he showed us HOW we die to our pride. Essentially, it’s a change in perspective.
We shift our perspective from ourselves and this world to God and the cross. We realize that we are nothing compared to God. This is the death of all pride. We cannot take pride in our accomplishments or righteousness before Him.
At the same time, we realize that we have everything in Christ Jesus. God has loved us. He has saved us. He has restored us. Christ has died for all our sins and brokenness. This is the death of all insecurity.
We need to shift our perspective to this simple truth: We have nothing. We are nothing. But Jesus is our everything.
Have you shifted your perspective today? Have you meditated on this truth this week? Take some time in the next couple days and reflect on these truths. May it lead you to a death of yourself and a life in Christ. May it lead you to rejoice in and be amazed by His love for you.
See you all on Sunday for Lord’s Day Worship! Pray for our ministry, our worship, and our members!
In Christ,
Pastor Tim
