How are you? How is your week going?

In a couple weeks, we will be electing two Deacons into office. New Life Members (both EM members and New Life confirmed) are required to vote.

This is not a process that should be taken lightly. In view of God’s word, it’s a very serious matter. We are called to reflect on Scripture and act accordingly. We are called to interact with the eligible candidates and vote prayerfully according to our conscience.

This past Sunday, we went through the Qualifications of Deacons in 1 Timothy 3. They are called to be men who are dignified and who live with integrity. They are called to be men who know the gospel and live out its truths. They are called to be men who love their families and lead their families in Christ.

These are the qualifications placed upon Deacons, and it’s the qualifications we all should strive for in our walk with Christ. Although this may seem like an impossible standard, it has been made possible through the power of the Perfect Deacon, Jesus Christ. He is the Perfect Deacon, because He was the Suffering Servant. He came not to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many. Because He served us on the cross, now our Deacons along with the rest of us have the power to live with integrity for the Lord.

Take some time today and reflect on this gospel truth. Spend some time with Christ, the Greatest Servant, and meditate on His work accomplished for us.

Pray for yourselves. Pray for the eligible candidates. Pray for this election process. Pray for our ministry.

See you all at our Friday Night Study @7:30pm! If not, see you on Sunday for Lord’s Day worship!

In Christ,
Pastor Tim
