What is the purpose of your life? Why are you here? Where do you find your meaning and worth?

We see that the answers to these questions cannot be found in this world. The answer is rooted in eternity. It is rooted in God.

In Psalm 8, we see David in awe of God’s glory and majesty found in the heavens. When is the last time you looked up at the night sky and were in awe? When is the last time you appreciated God’s creation? When is the last time you enjoyed and marveled at the greatness of God?

Our God is a great God. He is the Creator God. His glory and majesty are far beyond our comprehension. His glory leads us to see what we are: finite and fallen creatures.

When we see God, we see who we are not. When we see God’s holiness, we see our sinfulness. We have failed in giving God the worship He is due. We have failed in living out the image of God.

Then, what is our hope? It’s Christ. Christ is the One who is the perfect image of God. Yet for our sake, on the cross, He had His image ruined so that our image may be restored.

The cross is where we see the greatness of God’s glory meet the greatness of our sin. The cross is where we see the greatness of God’s majesty meet the greatness of God’s mindfulness of us. That is our source of worth.

It’s through this hope that we can be restored. It’s through this hope that we can worship our Lord and Savior. That is our purpose.

“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”

Community groups and Friday Night Studies (Romans Study @ 7:30pm) are resuming this week. We have Sabbath worship on Sunday. Keep the church in prayer. See you soon.

In Christ,
Pastor Tim
