Through the work of Christ, we are adopted as children of God. We are called to put off the old self and to no longer live for the sake of our own interests and desires. We are new creations and we belong to Jesus. Understanding the reality and consequences of being a new creation and belonging to Jesus is a tremendous blessing and encouragement.
