After exploring the vanity of toil, wisdom, and self-indulgence, he comes back to wisdom. He contrasts it to the madness and folly of self-indulgence. He says that there is greater gain with wisdom, but that gain only goes so far, since death will come for both the wise and the fool. But Christ has become the true wisdom, the Light of the World, for us by going through darkness of sin and death for us.
