Our passage for this week expounds our passage from last week, saying that all is vanity. Work and profit come with toil. Our lives are on repeat, and we pour into things that will eventually fade away. There is nothing new under the sun that will satisfy and complete us. This is the vanity of life “under the sun.” But there is hope in the God who is “over the sun” and rules over all. There is hope in the finished work of Christ that will make all things new.
