Vision

To develop a greater heart for worship that is evident throughout every facet of ministry in our EM

Goals

  1. To have each member of the Worship Dept. have a better biblical understanding of worship
  2. For our congregation to better understand what worship is and why we need to be actively apart of it
  3. For greater unity in the Worship Dept where it would not be about an individual gifts or talents that shine through but a love for Christ and the gospel
  4. For the members of the Worship Dept. to actively share with others what worship is about and grow in mutual passion for worship
  5. To train, equip and raise up new members show that more people in our congregation will be able to utilize their God-given abilities
  6. To better incorporate those that are overseeing A/V and powerpoint into the Worship Dept.

Department Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Leading the congregation in worship
  2. Working with the entire praise team and keeping them spiritually accountable
  3. Choosing the songs for Sunday worship
  4. Assisting various departments in our church with praise and worship ministry as well as with audio / visual issues
  5. Making sure that the sound is working properly and that the powerpoint presentations run smoothly
  6. Maintaining A/V equipment as well as looking into purchases for new equipment
  7. Keeping a regular practice schedule that includes time for sharing and accountability both for those in the worship team as well as A/V people

Qualifications for Worship Department Leader

  1. A current registered member of New Life in good standing for one year with completion of the EM Membership Course
  2. Display leadership skills in leading others, handling worship dept. duties, and delegating responsibilities
  3. A solid understanding of biblical worship
  4. A willingness to work with and train others.  Included in this is the ability to encourage, admonish, and lead those in the Worship Dept.

Qualifications for Worship Team Member

  1. A current registered member of New Life in good standing
  2. A solid biblical understanding of worship
  3. Participate in the Praise & Worship training series including the interview process

Responsibilities for the Worship Department Leader

  1. Leading the Worship Dept. which includes overseeing the members of the Dept.
  2. Having a solid grasp of worship and understanding where the congregation is at in order to more effectively lead the congregation in worship
  3. Making sure that all of the logistics such the chapel schedule, worship dept. finances, and A/V equipment are well maintained
  4. Continual training of the current members as well as raising up new members

Responsibilities for the Worship Department Member

  1. Willingness to follow the lead of the Worship Dept. leader including issues with promptness with practice times, song selection, etc.
  2. Maintaining their own personal walk with the Lord which encompasses bible reading, prayer, meditation, and evangelism
  3. To develop their own gifts and talents to better lead God’s people in worship
