Hope you are all doing well in the Lord on this Wednesday afternoon.  It’s been so hot lately and stormy in the afternoons.  The huge clouds made yesterday’s sunset amazing…all the sunsets lately have been amazing.  Just the other day, I even got to see a rainbow.  I always brag to all of my visiting friends that Colorado has the best sunsets and rainbows.  It’s so awesome what God can do with just light and water…

Pastor Tim this past Sunday preach on John 8:12-30 – “I Am the Light of the World”

16 times, as P. Tim stated, Jesus is referred to as light in the Gospel of John.  He is “THE” light…when the Bible states multiple times you should pay attention.  It means that it’s important.  So what does light do?  Simply, it reveals, it sheds truth.  And the light of Jesus for us, reveals and sheds truth on our sinful nature.  It shows that we are truly sinner to the deepest depths of our soul.  Have we come to that realization?  I know we all have, but right now have we come to that realization again and again and again?  Remember, in our fleshly being we are finite and we forget.  We need constant reminders of this so that we can continue to be blessed by Him.  I read this past week in a book by Dr. Sinclair Ferguson that even though conviction happens at a certain point in our salvation it can happen over and over again as we are being sanctified.  The Holy Spirit can convict over and over and over again.  Conviction that really works, convictions that is true and from the Holy Spirit leads to repentance unto God.

So, take the time right now and examine your heart.  What do you see deep down inside?

1 John 1:5-10 says this…

“….that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

Jesus is the Light of the world.  He also provides the living water that cleanses and replenishes our soul.  It is sooooo amazing what God can do with light and water…

Have blessed week!

Sincerely,

Elder Jimmy
