Hi all,

How is everything going? For those of you who haven’t heard, EM Bible Study will be resuming next Thursday, August 26th. Here’s today’s devotion:

Thur, August 19th – Jeremiah 26-29

There are those certain individuals that you meet where you have to admire their character. People who would stay true to their faith even when others would ostracize them. The more and more that you read thru the book of Jeremiah, you can’t help but to admire the faithfulness and persevering spirit of the prophet.

As we continue thru this book, Jeremiah continues to preach the message that God would call him to. The Jews had been faithless for several generations and the Lord had finally brought judgment on them. He would send prophets like Jeremiah so that they would understand why they were being punished. Unfortunately instead of repenting and turning from their sins, they would rebel against the message. This would open the door for false prophets to come and mislead the people of the Lord.

What do we learn from this? Sometimes the truth hurts but it also heals. We need to be willing to listen to those who will give us sound biblical advice. Also we need to have the courage like Jeremiah to tell others the commands of God even when it is difficult to do.

Take care guys and I hope to see you all soon.

SDG,
P. Ben
